Here are a couple portraits I finished recently.  Sweet little boys :)

When Ria saw the video my mom posted of her getting the first box of books, she danced around and said "Look Mommy, it's your picture!  Your lovely picture that you maded!"

I Love Local Food (and a book blitz!)

A little watercolour I made to help my mom (author Valerie Comer) promote her awesome new novel Raspberries and Vinegar.  You may remember the cover art I did for it earlier.  It's such a great book; a fun Christian Romance with farming, puppies, baby mice (who are, sadly, disgusting and not cute like baby animals should be), and enough good local food to make you hungry.  I'm not just saying I like it because my mom wrote it, it's a great book.

Cake Topper Commission

Jane and Justin asked me to do a portrait of them to use as a wedding topper.  Such a cute idea!  It has the gears rolling in my head now for sure...

I started by designing an illustration with some simple trees in the background:

Then I sent it to them in two separate file so that the couple and the trees could be cut out separately and put on the cake.  

  I didn't make the cake or physically make the topper, but I did take the photo as I was also their photographer :)

What do you think, should I start marketing cake toppers?

Jade Forest

So I started this a year ago.  Time flies when you don't sleep?  Anyway, here it is!  Feels good to have it finished, I like it a lot.

Winter Portrait

This was an art trade with my lovely friend Amanda.  She made my girls the coolest little dragon toy :)  And apparently her boyfriend is impervious to cold!

Not Afraid

I've been avoiding posting from my sketchbook as my scanner is old and sad and I'm really bad at taking photos of my art (although I try and try...).  So here you go, an imperfect photo of some watercolour calligraphy practice.
